Anyway —Full creative direction, including brand identity, editorial design, and art direction, for a new media brand and magazine for kids aged 8-14.

In a post-pandemic, extremely-online era, young people lack an authentic, trusted source of information on health, wellbeing, and culture. Anyway’s goal is the be that trusted confident; a place to talk openly and honestly about the ups and downs of growing up in ways that are relatable and fun.
The identity for the media brand and eponymous magazine play with colorful and retro-inspired motifs that allude to the golden age of childrens' media on screen (think: Sesame Street and The Electric Company) and class kids' magazines like Highlights and Nickelodeon Magazine. Streamlined layouts and big, bold type is easy for kids to understand and connect to while still inspiring creativity and excitement.
The first issue of the print magazine included stories about sustainable fashion, gender-bending animals, a factory tour to see how slime is made, an interview with a chef, questions about friendship, coloring sheets, puzzles, crafts, journaling pages, and much more. The second, stories about adventurous kids, personal style, room decor, speaking up for yourself, managing anxiety, the real deal with body hair, how it feels to live with autism, what it's like to have diabetes, and an interview with a dog trainer.
